Abstrakt

The issue of conscience is one of the essential theological and moral issues. Contemporarily it is gaining even a greater importance due to the necessity of taking into account the research results of other sciences, including the non-theological ones, as well as due to the current cultural and social conditions which provide a range of challenges for each individual’s conscience. Work and professional life are the platforms which reveal a range of moral dilemmas. The article indicates the most important challenges which are being faced nowadays, it highlights the role of conscience in the professional life and the basic rules of conduct in case of a conflict between conscience and the law.

Biogram

ZADYKOWICZ TADEUSZ, Hab. PhD., was born in 1968 and gradu- ated from the Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Białystok and the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL). He obtained his Habilitation of Theological Sciences degree with a specialization in moral theology. Since2001,hehasconductedresearchandhasbeenteachingatKUL’s Institute of Moral Theology. He is currently a professor in the Depart- ment of Fundamental Moral Theology and serves as the Director of the Institute of Moral Theology. Rev. Zadykowicz belongs to the fol- lowing academic societies: the Scientific Society of KUL (2002 – pres- ent), the Society for Moral Theology (1999 – present), the Scientific Society of Lublin (2003 – present), the European Society for Catholic Theology (2004 – present), and The Francis de Sales Scientific Society (2008 – present). His primary research interests include the morality of religious life; the contemporary context of religious and moral life; the biblical and cultural premises of morality; the role of personal examples in the Christian moral life; the morality of researchers and conducting research.
