Abstrakt

The Bible tells the story of Sarah and Abraham and their joy when, after many years of childlessness and despite Sarah's great age, she gave birth to a son, Isaac. God has given me cause to laugh, she said, and all who hear about this will laugh with me (Gen. 21:6). Today too there are many people who suffer because they cannot have children and who would be immensely grateful for a remedy. Modern medicine is able to treat many types of infertility which could not have been treated in the past. Such progress in medicine is welcome, but only provided the techniques employed respect human rights and do not infringe human dignity.

Biogram

SEBASTIAN KONDZIOR, Rev., Doctor of theological sciences, priest of the Archdiocese of Białystok, bioethicist, and moral theologian. He pursued doctoral studies from 2013 to 2020 at the Pontifical Academy of Alphonsus Liguori in Rome, affiliated with the Lateran University. He specialized in bioethics at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. Since 2020, he has served as chaplain at the University Clinical Hospital in Białystok. He is currently a lecturer in the Korczak University in Warsaw. He is a member of the Bioethics Commission at the Medical University of Białystok and the Regional Medical Chamber in Białystok. Author of articles in the fields of bio- ethics and moral theology.
